Captcha properties

Captcha is used to prevent spam bots from automatically submiting the form. Captcha ensures that the one who submits the form is human. This is done by displaying a blurred image, that the user has to read and enter in a textbox.

Captcha adds significant difficulty to your form. A good percentage of users will abandon the form owing to the Captcha. Simfatic Forms has other spam control measures.

General tab

Image Width and Height
The size of the Captcha image.

Number of characters in the Captcha
The number of characters used to create a captcha image. If there are too many characters, it will be more difficult for your visitor to enter the captcha characters.

Number of random lines
While creating the Captcha, a number of random lines are drawn to make it difficult for any automated bots to read the Captcha code. The more the number, the more difficult it will be to read the code. But, it will be difficult even for humans to read the code if there are too many lines. Provide a moderate number of lines for best results.

Allowed characters
The characters used to create the Captcha image. You can avoid similar characters so that to avoid confusion for your visitor. (examples: O an 0, 8 and B etc)

Font file
You can provide a TTF font file to be used to create the characters in the Captcha image. A default font file is provided with Simfatic Forms.

Instructions Tab

You can modify the instructions displayed in the captcha. The default instruction text is provided by default. You can customize the instructions per your needs.

Note that the {link}here{/link} in the refresh instruction is the placeholder for the link to refresh the captcha image.

Error strings tab

You can customize the error strings in the error strings tab. The error is displayed on validating the captcha (captcha code was not entered or the enterd code does not match)
